Event Description
Join renowned Bansuri Flute artist and teacher, Vinod Prasanna, in this inspiring 3 part workshop, focusing on meditation, connection, awareness and mindfulness through music and sound. Bookings are for all 3 parts of the workshop and you are not required to book into each separate date.
Workshop 1 – 02 Oct – We will start with meditation and follow on with an exploration of sound: What sound is, how to meditate with sound, how to listen with your body and how sound impacts on our mind, body and soul. We will walk in the beautiful gardens at Miller’s to feel and observe different sounds.
Workshop 2 – 03 Oct – Vinod will introduce you to Indian Scales and you will work towards composing a song together with others in the group, followed by a gentle, mindful, musical conversation.
Workshop 3 – 04 Oct – In this final session you will explore: mindful self-expression, being fully present, letting go of any feelings that may surface, compassion in the voice (and within) and Alaap (singing long notes).
No previous musical or mindfulness experience is necessary, though musicians and people on a mindfulness journey, will find these sessions very rewarding.
