The Infinite Nada

An evening of Indian classical Music & Kirtan

For the first time in Melbourne, renowned classical Indian musician Vinod Prasanna on Bansuri (flute) and talented Tabla player Jay Dabgar will join forces with the Chant Cartel’s kirtan artist Chakradhyan and Michael McInerney on double Bass.
It will be an uplifting evening not only for its merging of Nada Brahma (divine sound) and Sankirtan (singing the names of the divine), and also as these classical and folk systems don’t often meet.
The night starts with chai which will be followed by the inspiring music of Vinod Prasanna and Jay Dabgar. This will be a Nada Yoga Meditation in itself, invoking the spirit of the great music city of Benares (Varanasi ) where both of these musicians have trained and lived.
After a short break the evening will continue with a fusion of folk kirtan and Indian Classical, as east meets west. Chakradhyan who was trained at the Bihar school of Yoga will present a range of traditional and modern kirtans accompanied by Vinod, Jay and the Chant Cartels Micheal McInerney on Double Bass.
